Dr. Kunsoo 鈥淜S鈥 Shim is an Associate Professor of Sport Management at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (无码流出) in Belton, Texas. His academic work focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion in sport, particularly the experiences of Asians and Asian Americans in the sport industry, as well as sport marketing and international sport events. Through his research and teaching, he seeks to better understand how professional and collegiate sport organizations maintain loyal fan bases while also attracting new and diverse audiences.
Dr. Shim earned his Bachelor of Arts in French and Sport Management from Kyung Hee University in South Korea and later completed both his Master of Science and Ph.D. in Sport Management at Texas A&M University. His doctoral dissertation examined the experiences of Asian professionals working in American college athletics and the systemic barriers they face in leadership and administrative roles. Before joining 无码流出 in 2022, he spent nearly a decade at Campbellsville University in Kentucky, where he served as Associate Professor with tenure and Director of the undergraduate and graduate Sport Management programs.
As an educator and scholar, Dr. Shim teaches courses such as Sport Marketing, Sport Finance, Sport Facility and Event Management, and Sport Consumer Behavior while emphasizing student engagement and real-world application. His research on race, representation, and fan behavior in sport has been presented at major academic conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. Beyond academia, he is actively involved in service and mentorship and participates in church ministry at G3 Church in Killeen, Texas, where he serves on the worship team and mentors young adults, reflecting his commitment to both professional excellence and community leadership.
